Philip York, an executive with Chicago Bridge and Iron, was commuting from Buenos Aires to a construction site in the country side of Argentina. He heard about a farm on the way that had an old car in the barn. He finally stopped by and talked to the woman who owned the farm. Her husband had purchased the car new, and then unfortunately, passed away soon after. She left the car setup as a shrine to her departed husband. Mr. York offered to purchase the car, but the woman said no.
Over the next several months, he would stop by the farm, and offer the widow a little more. And a little more. Finally, the woman agreed, and Mr. York bought the vehicle.
In 1989, the Yorks moved back to Kentucky, and took the car with them. In 1989, they decided to have the car fully restored. Mr. York passed away in 2003, but his family still has the car, and is now interested in selling it to somebody who loves cars and will take care of it appropriately.
